Mozart Cup: Lexettes, Nexxice and Musketeers top on the provisional podium

The 2017 Mozart Cup started this Friday in Salzburg, Austria, with the short programs. At the Junior level, the American Team Lexettes finished top of their category, followed by Nexxice from Canada and Musketeers, representing Finland.

It was a beautiful winter day in Salzburg. The sun was shining outside but also in the heart of many synchro skaters, fans, and the spectators when the Junior teams entered in the ice to show their short programs.

On Friday evening, Lexettes from the USA won the Junior short competition. Their clean and shiny skate brought them a total of 55.03 points.

Less than 3 points behind, the Canadian NEXXICE presented a great skate to a mix of Eminem’s « Lose yourself » and J. Cole’s « I’m coming home » (score for the short: 52.87 points).

Musketeers, representing Finland, are 3rd after the short programs. This team showed in Salzburg a smooth skate. Dressed in yellow costumes, Musketeers earned 48.99 points.

With a total of 45.07 points, Chicago Jazz (USA) placed 4th after the short. Team Reflections from Finland finished at the 5th place. Their punchy program brought them a total of 43.35 points. Team Spirit (Sweden) is for the moment 6th with 41.93 points.

Skaters from Team Convivium, representing Finland, got a total 39.63 points for their short that told the story of a heart broken. Stella Polaris placed just behind (8th) with 38.42 points. The Finnish team presented a classic short. At the 9th position, Hot Shivers from Italy (34.69 points).

Team Icicles (Great Britain) is for the moment 10th. They did a score of 31.67 points with their emotional skate. Team Mirum from Spain impressed the audience with a changing-color dress (26.21 points). Team Illuminettes, representing the Netherlands, did a score of 19.10 points.
