Mozart Cup 2017 ended with non-ISU categories

After three days of intense competitions, Mozart Cup 2017 concluded on Sunday with Juvenile, Adult and Mixed Age divisions. The event has been marked by the participation of 23 Mixed Age teams from eight different countries.

With its large participation, the Mixed Age competition has been one of the most interesting fields on Sunday. The victory went to the only Finnish team of the category, Ice Diamonds. Dressed in black, yellow and red, the team from Jyväskylä presented a difficult free program and did the best score of the day with 68.94 points. The Swiss team Snowflakes took the silver medal after a clean free on « techno » music (59.84 points). Even with one fall during the program, United Angels from Germany are the bronze medalists this year with 58.42 points.

They had to fly halfway across the world to compete. Three Australian synchro teams took part in the competition this season. Majestic Ice finished at the 4th place with 55.68 points. Infusion placed 15th and Adelaide Ice Magic 18th.

Two Italian teams skated in Salzburg in the Mixed Age category, Shining Blades (12th) and Ice Angels Alta Badia (17th). Austria was also well represented with 3 teams: Tyrol Diamonds (21th), Spirit On Ice (22th) and Viennese Kolibris (23th).

To finish this overview, Team Starlight from Switzerland took the 6th place, Sport Magic from Hungary finished 20th and Team Seaside (7th) was the only Swedish team engaged.



In the Juvenile division, seven teams skated their free program in the Red Bull Arena. Sport Magic from Hungary won the gold medal with 26.62 points. Mini Starlets (Germany) took the silver one with 23.88 points and Le Soleil, representing Poland, placed just behind and received the bronze distinction (23.16 points). Pataza (Czech Republic), the Hungarian Shining Laces, Gemini and Tempo from the Czech Republic completed the rankings.

Adult teams brought together eight teams. Ice Chicas Czech’us did the best score of the category (35.69 points). Starlight Diamonds from Switzerland placed 2nd with 31.22 points and All Stars (Czech Republic) finished 3rd with a total score of 28.35 points. Three other German teams skated in this division: Skating Graces (5th), Red Sunshine (7th) and Just For Fun (8th). Finland has been represented by Jääleidit (4th) and Austria by Lemon Ice (6th).
