Canadian adult teams lived their Nationals

Let’s compete in Ontario ! Adult National Figure Skating Championships took place in Oakville (ON) this weekend (April 22-24, 2016). 42 synchronized skating teams present their programs. Adult skaters from across Canada competing in 3 other disciplines: free skate, interpretive and ice dance.

In the Adult I category, teams had to present seven elements during a program of maximum 3:40 min. NOVA Spirit I did the best and won the competition with a total of 89,65 points. Evolution placed 2nd (78,98 points) and Mississauga Ice Precise finished at the 3rd place with a very tight score of 78,56 points. A total of 9 teams competed from across the country. In this category, skaters must have reached the age of 19 years old.

It’s different for Adult II. Here, six elements have to be executed in the program (max 3:40 min also). In this category, at least 75% of the skaters must have reached the age of 25 years old. The minimum age is still 19. In Oakville, 14 teams were gathered. The victory went to NOVA Spirit II who earned 73,63 points. The silver medal was for Tavistock Team Unity (69,98 points) and Golding Ice placed just behind with 69,71 points.

With 19 participating teams, Adult III was the biggest category. Tavistock Team Unity took the 1st place with a total score of 32,50 points. Team Velocity is 2nd with 31,23 points and Mississauga Ice Precise received the bronze medal (30,53 points). A program here is composed by five elements and the duration is 2:40 min. At least 50% of the Adult III skaters must have reached the age of 35 years old.
