Novice Cup, the future of Russian synchro

Last weekend in Dmitrov, in the Moscow region, took place the 5th edition of the Novice Cup. The peculiarity of this competition is that only the Novice Base and Advanced teams can participate. This year's event brought together 20 teams from different parts of Russia.

Team Junost-pre-novice-1 from Ekaterinburg won the competition in the Advanced Novice category. That team at the beginning of the season competed in Basic Novice field. However, their improvement during the season allowed them to compete in Advanced Novice now and even win the event with a total score of 52.56 points. The second place took Team Ice Fantasy from Moscow with 49.74 points. Team Aquamarin from Omsk won the 3rd place with 48.71 points.

In the Basic Novice division, there were 11 competing teams. Team Fleur de Lis from Gubkin won the gold title. They showed interesting program and clean skating and received 43.3 points. Team Junost-pre-novice-2 from Ekaterinburg earned the silver medal. They had just 1.5 points less than Fleur de Lis. Team Oren Jams from Orenburg won the bronze with a total of 39.23 points. 

The competition season in Russia will be finished at the end of April in Sizran with the Final of Russian Cup.
