Multiple times Senior World Champions, the Russian Team Paradise celebrates this week its 25th anniversary. Watch an exclusive video from their first competition ever and see how synchro has developed!

Team Paradise appeared in 1994 in Saint- Petersburg in Youth Figure Skating Sports Center of Olympic Reserve on the initiative of its director Tatiana Menshikova.

Honoured ice ballet dancer of Russia, Irina Yakovleva was invited to be the main coach of the team. Her husband Alexander Yakovlev, also an honored ice ballet dancer, joined the teamwork later.  Before that, they were soloists in Leningrad ice ballet for 24 years.

Team Paradise's name wasn’t chosen accidentally. Peter the Great, the founder of Saint-Petersburg, addressed his favorite creation in this way “My Paradise”. 



In 1999, Team Paradise team won Nationals for the first time.

In 2001, the team won its first international competition: French Cup.

During the team’s existence, they won many international competitions. Team Paradise took part in 25 National championships of Russia and won 21 of them. This team has been a permanent champion since 1999. 

In 2015, Paradise found success in the world stage. This year, the team claimed its first medal – bronze, at the World Championships in Hamilton, Canada.

Right after that, Team Paradise won two World Championships in a row in Budapest (HUN) and Colorado Springs (USA).

At the World Synchronized Skating Championships 2018, they finished 3rd, and at the last Worlds this year in Helsinki, Team Paradise again won the gold.

The Team Paradise is also historically known for winning the first Final Grand Prix of Synchro Skating in 2015 in Barcelona. Today the team is one of the strongest teams in the world with its own style, character, and personality.
