First competition day for the Novices
Advanced Novice teams skate twice during the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday. Teams receive only half of their program score for each performance and their total score will be the average of the two separate program scores.

Team Sunrise 2 from Russia took a huge lead after earning 49.53 (99.05) points. Their performance was overpowering. They even had an angled intersection which is rarely seen in the Advanced Novice category.

Crystal Blades from Finland are in second place with 36.37 (72.74) points. They were the first team to skate, and apparently did not know the segment score was only half of their program score, as they were a bit upset. The scoring system was explained to the audience and skaters later.

Blue Arrows from Finland is currently in third place after earning 34.34 (68.68) points for a clear program. Competition continues on Sunday and will be exciting as Team Limelight from Sweden is less than a point away from the podium.
