More than 135 teams expected in Kalamazoo this weekend

The 17th annual Kick Off Classic synchronized skating is held on Saturday and Sunday, November, 19 and 20, in Kalamazoo, Michigan (USA). About 135 teams from Beginner to Senior level are ready to compete.

The event hosted by the Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and Skate Canada is open to all synchronized teams. It means that around 2’000 synchro skaters will present their programs this weekend at the Wings Event Center. 

The competition starts with Open Juvenile « A » on Saturday morning. On the same day, Junior, Juvenile, Collegiate, Open Adult, Open Collegiate, Senior, Intermediate, Open Juvenile « B », and Novice categories will compete.

Nine Novice teams are registered : Crystallettes, Dazzlers, Braemar Panache, Chicago Jazz, Starlights, Cleveland Edges, Hockettes, Onyx Synchronized Skating and Teams Elite.

Hockettes from Ann Arbor, Starlights, Shattuck-St.Mary's Team Sabres, Fond du Lac Blades and the 2016 U.S. champions Chicago Jazz will skate in the Junior’s field.

By Senior, only two teams will show their programs : Adrian College and Crystallettes. 

Intermediate will be the most challenging categories with 16 participating teams. Juvenile’s field will gather 12 teams, Open Juvenile « A » and « B » will represent a total of 22 teams !
