Sunday was the culmination of the Trophy d'Ecosse in the Ice Bowl, Dumfries. The three day competition saw some breath-taking performances from teams across the world and some great displays of solidarity, with teams coming together after the competition to take pictures with each other and to exchange congratulations.

Advanced Novice ISU

Earning 1st place with 47.49 points, Ice Fantasy, Finland, skated an atmospheric programme. They pleased the home crowd by skating to a medley of traditional Gaelic music, wearing a dark green and gold costume. In second place was Shadows, GBR. Skating to Cinderella, they twirled their way through their intersection, earning 45.27 points.

Basic Novice B ISU

Skating to a medley from the film Trolls, Ice Stars from Nottingham scored 36.35 points. It was a very pacy programme with brightly coloured costumes and they had the audience clapping along with them.

Junior B

The only entry for this category, Whizz Kids from Altrincham, skated their short programme on Friday to La La Land earning 25.08 points. The next day they scored 47.56 points for their Maleficent free programme, 72.64 in total. Their synchronised axels were a programme highlight, pleasing the crowd.

I’m most chuffed with the score with an international panel. We’ve got it at another competition but it’s a bit tougher here. I’m very chuffed that we got a personal best with our highest component score and we’re starting to see some +1s in the GEO! As a team, it’s been a cracking season so onwards and upwards. Now we’ve got a new long programme to do for next season. It’s been a treat and a pleasure to watch the high level teams here, really inspiring!” (Sam Ozard, coach of Whizz Kids)
