Italy once again charmed several synchronized skating teams who competed last weekend in Milan in Advanced Novice, Junior and Senior. The competition also celebrated the 25th anniversary of its creation.
History was made at the most recent US Nationals held in Portland, Oregon. Teams came all across the country to compete in the event. Stakes were high, but tensions higher.
The Dumfries Ice Bowl, Scotland, was heaving with hoards of excited fans and skaters today with the culmination of the ISU event. 1500 competitor passes had been handed out for the 3 day competition and fans were sitting on steps and stood in crowds at the boards to watch the Junior and Senior events.
This past weekend, the 22nd Annual of the Dr. Porter Classic Synchronized Skating competition took place this weekend. For many skaters, Porter is their favorite competition and one they look forward to the whole year. Porter is also looked at as a mini nationals where teams not only from the Midwest are there, but the East and Pacific coast teams.
The names of the two qualified teams have been released. Skyliners, representing the Skating Club of New York and Springdale Figure Skating Club and Lexettes from Lexington (MA) will represent their country at the next Junior Worlds in Canada.
The Junior teams skated their free programs on Saturday afternoon at the 2017 French Cup. The American Skyliners, who were 4th after the short programs on Friday, took the bronze. Competition’s summary.

The 2017 Mozart Cup started this Friday in Salzburg, Austria, with the short programs. At the Junior level, the American Team Lexettes finished top of their category, followed by Nexxice from Canada and Musketeers, representing Finland.
Last Sunday was an incredible day for Chicago Jazz Junior. The team skated in an exhibition at Skate America, which is an important international figure skating competition held this year in Illinois State, USA.
Neuchâtel, Milan and now the Nationals in Kalamazoo! Nothing could stop Chicago Jazz Junior who finished perfectly their season. The team won the gold medal this weekend at the 2016 U.S. Championships. Skyliners Juniors are 2nd and Lexettes won the bronze.
More than 500 blades scraped the ice in Milan this weekend! Spring Cup 2016, in Italy, lived a great 22nd edition with a total of 32 participating teams this year in Novice, Junior and Senior categories.
