The national championships in Finland ended on Sunday in Tampere. If Dream Edges, the new senior team, made its entry on the senior podium, the disappointment was total for Team Unique, which finished 4th and therefore did not qualify for the Worlds.

In Seniors, the stakes were high as five teams were competing, but only two could be selected to participate in the Worlds.

Despite one fall in their free program "Digital Twin" Helsinki Rockettes reached the first position and were crowned Finnish national champions, earning a total score of 229.04 points. The gold medallists will be "FIN1" at the World Championships 2022 in Hamilton, Canada. The team of Kaisa Arrateig keeps their national title for the third consecutive year: 2019, 2020 and now 2022! Last season, due to the Covid, the competition did not take place.

Marigold IceUnity got the day's highest score (146.47) with its free program "From Darkness to Light", but the overall score of 226.93 fell within just over two points of the winner. With their performances this weekend, the team received their ticket for the Worlds and will be Finland's second representative (FIN2).

"We skated for ourselves and enjoyed every second. We are super proud of the progress we've made during the season; hard work really pays off. We kept believing in ourselves and what we have as a team and we are delighted to say that our journey continues to the Worlds," the team said on Instagram.

Dream Edges Senior placed third, and this is only the first season for the team. They succeeded very well also in their free program and improved their score to a new record: 216.89.

Fifth after the short program, Team Unique ended up fourth. Their misfortune continued on Sunday, and due to two falls in the first Intersection, they lost a huge amount of points. The total score of 203.41 fell far short of their best performance of the season.

Lumineers also had two falls in their free program. They finished fifth and earned 196.88 points in total.

The "little sisters" of the Rockettes also take the gold
Team Fintastic, who won the short program competition on Saturday, was also superior in Sunday's free program competition. Their performance "Brand new soul" brought them the season's highest score to 131.02. The total score of 203.52 is the new Season-best for the Finnish skaters. Team Fintastic (FIN1) will attend the World Junior Championships in Innsbruck in mid-March.

Musketeers were awarded the silver medal with a score of 189.65. They are also already selected for the Junior World Championships (FIN2).

Team Mystique was third. The team was second after the short program, but there was an unfortunate fall in the Move Element. Team Mystique, who had already narrowly missed qualifying for the Junior Worlds, missed out on silver this time by 20 tenths of a point. The team still collected its best overall score of 189.41 for the season.

Twelve junior teams competed in total with excellent performances rewarded with total scores ranging from 111 to 176 points.
