Teams Elite is the new Junior World Champion! This historic victory marks the first time the United States has won junior world gold. The USA even takes home a second medal, with the Skyliners claiming bronze. Team Fintastic (FIN) secures silver.

The final group was highly anticipated. It featured the five best teams from the short program, all separated by just a few points. Everything was possible on Saturday at the Frölundaborg Arena in Gothenburg, Sweden.

With so much pressure on the athletes, even the smallest mistake would have an impact. And that’s exactly what happened. Out of the five teams fighting for a medal, two had falls. Valley Bay Synchro from Finland suffered a double fall in the second intersection. Les Suprêmes Junior (CAN) had a small fall during their synchronized spins. Although these mistakes were quickly recovered, the GOEs were affected. Valley Bay Synchro, for example, lost 2.04 points.

Valley Bay Synchro finished fifth, just like in 2024. A solid result, considering this was only their second appearance at Junior Worlds. The reigning champions, Les Suprêmes, ended up fourth, just over one point away from the podium.

5th on Friday and 2nd on Saturday... Team Fintastic made a great comeback in the rankings! (Credits: IceGalaxy - 2025)

The three medal-winning teams delivered flawless performances on Saturday night in Sweden. Their execution was outstanding, earning both the gold and silver medalists +5 GOEs on their elements.

For the first time in Junior World Championship history, an American team won gold. Teams Elite, from Chicago, IL, claimed the title with 205.28 points. Their program, full of speed and incredible energy, convinced the judges. They finished 3.41 points ahead of Team Fintastic. The Finnish team, fifth after the short program, delivered a clean and powerful free skate titled "Dragon" (201.87 points). Just like last year, they take home the silver medal.

The Skyliners also impressed the crowd in their blue dresses. Sitting in second place after the short program, the American team skated "Northern Lights" with speed and determination. For the third season in a row, the Skyliners won bronze.

Who are the top five countries?
As expected, the USA, Finland, Canada, and Sweden confirmed their status as top nations. They will each be able to send two teams to next year’s Junior Worlds. But who is the fifth country? Thanks to their ninth-place finish, the Starlight team secured Switzerland as the fifth nation, surpassing Japan and Great Britain.

After two days of intense competition, the 24 teams ended the weekend – and their season – on a high note. Some left with medals, others with valuable experience. In 2026, the Junior World Championships will take place in Gdansk, Poland.

The synchro season isn’t over yet. In just one month, senior teams will compete at the World Championships. The event will be held in early April in Helsinki, Finland.
