Sweden – represented at the senior level by Team Inspire – will be missing from this year’s World Championships. The skaters reflect on a season off the circuit and share their goals for the seasons ahead.
The 2025 World Synchronized Skating Championships in Helsinki will unfold without a Swedish presence in the senior division. Team Inspire, Sweden’s only senior team, will not be competing this season, after finishing 9th in 2023 and 11th in 2024.
“Emotionally, being in the audience at Worlds will be tough, knowing we would do anything to step onto that ice,” the skaters admit. They will be in Helsinki—this time not as competitors, but as supporters—ready to cheer for the teams on the world stage.

Team Inspire was unable to carry out a regular competition season. “The circumstances didn’t give us the right conditions to execute a regular competition,” they explained. Rather than force a compromised season, the team made a deliberate choice to step back and rebuild.
This year became an opportunity to restructure training and realign goals, laying the groundwork for future success.

While absent from ISU events, Team Inspire remained active. A key moment was their training camp in Spain, which focused on strength, team bonding, and technical development. The skaters also performed at the opening ceremony of the World Junior Championships in Gothenburg, their home city, and will skate one last exhibition on April 1st.
Under the guidance of their long-time coaching trio—Andrea Dohany, Magdalena Sivertsson Parneryd, and Nathalie Lindqvist—the team has continued to innovate and evolve, with eyes firmly set on returning to the ISU circuit.

“To all teams: embrace your moment, skate your hearts out, and savor every second,” Team Inspire says to the synchronized skating teams taking part at Worlds. Though not competing this year, the Swedish team is preparing, quietly but confidently, for a stronger comeback.
