Big trill this weekend in Finland. On Saturday, the senior and junior best teams have shown their best in Helsinki during the short programs and the scores are very close. The big tension is the senior division because, at the end of the weekend, we’ll know which teams will represent Finland at the 2018 World Championships. The Novice division competed also on Saturday.

The first day in Finnish nationals was exciting and dramatic due to many falls in the programs. After the short programs, senior teams are very even. The difference between the leading Helsinki Rockettes (72.62) and the second Marigold IceUnity (71.74) is only 0.88 points. Team Unique is not far behind. Despite one unfortunate fall in the no hold element, they earned 70.56 points. Lumineers was the fourth with points 60.46.

In the Junior competition, the placings after short programs are a little bit surprising. Dream Edges is leading with their 62.30 points as expected but to the Team Fintastic, the other Finnish representative in the 2018 WJSSC, Saturday was the day of bad luck. There were five falls in their program and with 47.34 points; they are currently in the sixth place. Musketeers succeeded well and was placed second earning scores 60.58.

Probably one of the happiest teams on Saturday was Valley Bay Synchro. They really rejoiced when they heard they scored 57.44, which gave them the third place. Team Mystique was fourth. They had one fall and they got 54.48 points. Reflections also broke the limit of fifty points. They got the fifth pace and 51.08 points.

Starlights (57.56) was the winner of the Novice competition. Team Dynamique (56.60) got the silver medal and Finettes (55.59) was the third. Also in this competition, falls were quite fateful but fortunately, nobody was hurt.
