The race to the French national title has started for 29 teams

29 French teams faced each other last weekend on the ice of Romorantin for the 1st round of the national championship.

The Mixed Age category was the most intense of the day! It is eight teams in total facing on the ice. As a bonus, a spot for the famous International SyS Mixed Age Trophy, which will take place in Switzerland on March 28th. Only three French teams can take part of this competition. An average of their two best scores will be calculated after the next national competition and the three highest win their entry ticket.

It is a little bit more than one point between the first and the third team of this first round of the national championship. In third place, Les Etincelles from Saint Etienne. The team realized the best technical score of the category (23.16 points and a total of 58.39 points). The locals, Les Z'Hysteriks, presented a program with an interesting choreography and got a total of 58.54 points. Les Salamandres from Le Havre, skating an energetic program to a Rihanna / Beyonce medley finished on top of the podium with the best component score (40.26 in components and a total of 59.70 points).

The second biggest category was the Novice Basic. First of seven teams competing, Les Flammes from Wasquehal and their "Casino" program got 36.94 points. In second place the "Super Heroines" Les Axel'Ice from Caen with the score of 32.03 points. Starting their program with motorcycle noises, Les Z'Exentrik from Romorantin close this podium with 29.58 points. 

In Novice Advanced, the Team Jeanne d'Arc from Rouen finished in first place with a vintage rock program. The team got a total of 47.68 points. The country program of Magic Crystals from Compiègne took them to the second place of the category with 45.06 points. In third place Les Chrysalides from Valenciennes with 43.92 points and an Egyptian program.

The future of French synchronized skating was represented by the four Juvenile teams participating to this round of the national championship. With bright pink dresses, Les Axelettes from Caen got 21.87 points. Right behind, Les Salamandres and their Doctors themed program, scored a 21.84 points. The Team Tagada from Reims took the third place only 1.28 points from the second place.



Junior and Senior B
In the Junior division, the Burlesque program of Les Axelines from Caen won. They earned 59.03 points. In second place with bright pink and black suits, Black Diam's from Compiègne got 56.36 points. It is a very colorful podium with Team Odysée from Montpellier and their green dresses finished in third place and a total score of 49.35 points.

Finally the Senior closed the competition day. Two teams were fighting for gold. Team Jeanne d'Arc presented a "Formula 1" program and earned 74.18 points. Black Diam's and their Ying Yang program finished in second place, their Group Lift element did not get called. They got 69.26 points in total.

Next round of the national championship will be held in Compiègne. It will take place on February 15th and 16th.
