The second qualification competition weekend in Finland started with high-class short programs

This weekend it is time for the second qualification competition in Finland, Tampere and also time for teams to show how they've improved their programs. On Saturday, Group 2 of Novice teams skated their free programs, and Seniors and Juniors competed with their short programs. Team Unique in Seniors and Team Fintastic are leading the competition after the first day. Starlights won the Novice competition.

The first place went to Team Unique after the first day. Speed and cheerfulness fueled the team's skating and with their season-best score of 77.68, they set out to pursue tomorrow's victory.  

Although their program was beautiful and flawless, this time, Helsinki Rockettes had to settle for second position with 76.64. This will surely give them just more strength for tomorrow's performance.

Lumineers finished third and earned 69.45 points. They too skated flawlessly and successfully conveyed moods of passion and longing to the audience.

It was exciting to wait for the Marigold IceUnity to perform at the end of the competition: were there any changes made to their beautiful and emotional program? Based on the scores they received, no major change had occurred. They had one unfortunate fall in their Synchronized Spiral Element and they finished fourth with overall points 67.64.

Five junior teams will compete equally for victory on Sunday
Team Fintastic successfully reached the touching message of music with its soft skating and beautiful slide. This time they had no technical errors and with 68.59 points, they took the lead of the competition.

As waited Dream Edges skated their “Rubik´s Cube” program with good speed and excellent technique. They had one fall and they couldn't reach their SB but anyway took the second position earning a total score of 67.81 points. 

With their skillfully presented “Baroque Ball” Valley Bay Synchro earned 65.67 points. The team has clearly practiced their performance a lot, as the playful atmosphere of the ball was even better conveyed than before.

Musketeers took the fourth place. Their “Black and Gold“ short program gave them 65.35. They are also in a very good position for the podium on Sunday.

Despite one fall just after the intersection Team Mystique improved their SB more and earned a total score of 65.15 especially due to their good technical elements. They are in fifth place.

All the five best teams will have really exciting competition on Sunday. The difference between them is less than four points.

Two teams from Helsinki again competed for the victory of Group 2 of the Novice category. This time too, Starlights did better in their program and won the competition with 84.43 points. Team Dynamique had some small mistakes and their “Like a Butterfly” program scored 77.66, earning them the silver medal.

Diamond Edges from Kaarina succeeded in their program “The Last Airbender” extremely well. The team improved its performance by almost fifteen points compared to the previous competition. They claimed 3rd place with a total score of 71.91 points.
