You shouldn't miss a thing. The United States of America and Finland are hosting their national championships this weekend. Those competitions may be essential for the synchro teams who are trying to qualify for the ISU Senior World Championships in a month.

After the Canadian national championships last week, it is the turn of the USA and Finland to compete for the national titles.
Nationals in the United States have already started
In the USA, the competitions have started on Thursday evening in Providence, RI. Indeed, synchro fans have already discovered the Novices and Masters teams, as well as the Junior short programs. As for the Seniors, they will start the competition Friday evening at 4:54 pm (local time).

Beautiful show also in Finland!
In Europe, all eyes will be in Finland where the last event of the season for the top teams will take place. The 12 best novice and junior teams, as well as the 4 senior teams, will compete in a fierce battle for the medals.

The competition is even more important for the seniors who will play this weekend in the last stage of their qualifications for the Worlds in Lake Placid. Indeed, the champions crowned Sunday in Finland will become "Team Finland 1". The second team selected will be the one who will have earned the best average of scores during the season.

Marigold IceUnity, vice-world champions 2019 and silver medalist at the last national championships, explain the qualification system in Finland and tell us about their programs:

The Finnish Synchronized Skating Championships will bring together around 600 athletes at Espoo this weekend. On Saturday, the competition will start at 2:30 pm (local time) with the novices, followed by the junior and senior short programs.
