Team Mystique and Team Fintastic to represent Finland at the Junior Worlds 2020

This was an incredible weekend for Team Mystique! The little sisters of Team Unique won the third Finnish qualification for Juniors. The team will represent Finland as Team FIN1 at the Worlds Junior Synchronized Skating Championship 2020 in Nottingham, United Kingdom in March. Even after a difficult short program this weekend, Team Fintastic will be FIN2.

TeamrnMystiquernhad a great weekend! They were already in lead after the shortrnprogram and continued their victoriousrnskating on Sunday with their free program ”Tique Tock”. Theyrnearned 123.41 points and won the competition with a total score ofrn194.71. The team (who was at the 4th place in the national rankings on Friday) will finally compete in the Junior Worlds for the first time.

Dream Edges skated a clean free program earning 120.61 points. The team was third in free skating but finished the weekend with a total score of 188.21, they took the silver medal. The team has participated in Junior Worlds twice, in 2018 and 2019, but did not qualify this year. As a reminder, for the second qualified team, the highest score obtained during competitions was decisive. 
TeamrnFintasticrnwas fifth after the short program but managed to rise to the third placernonrnSunday.rnTheir free program ”Anesthesia” received the best score of the day (126.23).rnThey gathered 187.31rnpoints in total. As the team has the highest average score of threerncompetition (192.98), the team will be FIN 2rnat the Junior Worlds. Team Fintastic has participated in Worlds everyrnyear since the competition was started in 2013.

rnrnMusketeersrnperformed their free program ”Metamorphosis” flawlessly earningrn118.37 points. They finished fourth with 185.78 points in total.rnValleyrnBay Synchrorndid not reach their full potential on Sunday. They had a fall in No Holdrnelement. They got 112.96 in free skating and 174.31 in total. Theyrnwerernplaced fifth inrnthe competition.
