Both teams Les Suprêmes take the lead after the short programs

After almost two years without any event, Canadian synchro teams are competing this weekend in Calgary for the National Championships. The Senior and Junior teams Les Suprêmes ended the first day with gold.

Lower Mainland Junior from British Columbia opened the competition with their "Times up" program and received 31.39 points for their short program.
Ice Ignite from SC Ilderton skated to John Legend's song "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Showing great skating skills, the Ontario team got 56.05.

Gold Ice Junior then brought some great energy to the rink with their program to Madcon's Beggin'. Thanks to a clean performance, the Central Ontario team received 58.05 points.
With 64.73, Nexxice Junior is leading the competition with a short program full of emotion and grace, despite an unfortunate fall in the twizzle element.
Nova Junior entered the ice in several different colored dresses. The Quebec team skated with freshness on the "Four Seasons", scoring 47.09.
Golding Ice, competing for the first time in this category, made a great impression with their program to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "WingS". Despite two falls in the No Hold, the Quebec team scored 45.48 points.
The last team to take the ice was Les Suprêmes. The team that will be representing Canada with Nexxice at the World Junior Championships in three weeks skated a good performance, bringing them 66.19 points and therefore first place!

Three teams are competing for the first places in this competition. This event is very important because it will select the two teams that will participate in the Worlds.
Nova Senior skated a very good program to "Lacrimosa ". Except for a collision in the corner intersection, the Quebec team skated with confidence, receiving 67.43 points.
Then Les Suprêmes made their comeback with a remarkable performance to Aretha Franklin. Skating in glittering white costumes, the team skated without any major error, and the joy of being back was communicative. The skaters from Quebec obtained 84.21 points.
Nexxice performed a very clean short program to "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" by Shania Twain. The team from Burlington, Ontario, received 79.68 points and placed 2nd after the short program.
Then Les Suprêmes made their comeback with a remarkable performance to Aretha Franklin. Skating in glittering white costumes, the team skated without any major error, and the joy of being back was communicative. The skaters from Quebec obtained 84.21 points.
