Les Suprêmes after the short program: "We skated with our heart"

The Canadian Nationals are well underway for Les Suprêmes from Québec. Both senior and junior teams won the short programs on Friday in Calgary, Alberta. The reaction of the head coach and the senior captain.

Marilyn Langlois (coach) and Laurie Désilets (captain of the Suprêmes Seniors): We feel super proud! We skated with our hearts, and we feel a lot of gratitude for being here. It's an incredible feeling to finally be able to share our love for the sport and our work over the past two years. We were so excited to get on the ice and reconnect with our community after all this time.
Our short program is a tribute to Aretha Franklin, a strong and inspiring woman who broke barriers. Her music brings us together. After what we've all been through, Aretha has inspired us to do the same.
Our goal will be to continue having a lot of fun together! We want to enjoy every little moment. We will do the same as in practice, the same as at home. Today is a new day and we look forward to sharing our free programs with you.
