Blending elite sport, international camaraderie, and festive joy, the inaugural Milano Easter Trophy lit up the Palasesto Ice Arena in mid-April. Hosted by the Ladybirds Milano Synchro Academy, the event welcomed 35 teams from 11 countries across seven diverse categories.
In its first edition, the Milano Easter Trophy delivered a vibrant showcase of synchronized skating, uniting skaters as young as 8 with veterans aged over 65. From the Juvenile to Masters divisions, the event celebrated the essence of the sport—precision, teamwork, and passion—at all levels.
Why launch a new competition at the season’s end?For the Ladybirds Milano Synchro Academy, the answer was simple: to create an additional, meaningful opportunity for teams in open categories to compete. “There are few competitions late in the season, and we felt that needed to change,” explained the organizing committee.
“With growing momentum for synchronized skating’s inclusion in the French Alps 2030 Winter Olympics, now is the time to raise visibility, support athletes, and foster development at every level.”

Skippy the Skating Chicky
Throughout the day, teams delivered standout performances—many earning their Season’s Best scores, a testament to the value of competing late in the season. Energy, artistry, and athleticism were on full display.
Adding a layer of playful charm was Skippy the Skating Chicky, the event’s instantly beloved mascot. With spontaneous dance moves, photo ops, and infectious enthusiasm, Skippy became a central figure—cheering with Juvenile teams, posing with Adult skaters, and igniting smiles from morning to evening.

The electric atmosphere extended beyond the rink. On Instagram, the competition’s account became a lively hub filled with images, shout-outs, and behind-the-scenes moments. Coaches, skaters, and spectators praised the event’s organization and spirit.
“Such a fun and well-run competition! Our team loved every moment,” one comment read. “We’ll definitely be back,” promised another.

Eyes already on 2026: Milano Easter Trophy is set to welcome ISU teams for an even bigger event. (Credits: Simone Guerrotto Photography)
Buoyed by the resounding success of this debut, organizers have already confirmed the 2026 edition. The next Milano Easter Trophy will welcome ISU-level teams, including Senior ISU squads seeking a final opportunity to perform before the World Championships in Salzburg.
“We want to offer more chances to compete at this crucial time of year,” said the organizers. “The demand is there. The passion is there. And we’re ready to grow.”
In a busy international calendar, the Milano Easter Trophy distinguishes itself not only through its timing but also through its inclusive ethos and festive energy. It’s a place where a first-time Juvenile team shares the ice with seasoned Masters, where technical excellence meets community celebration.
This isn’t just another event—it’s the start of a new synchro tradition in the heart of Milan.
