The 2025 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships concluded on Saturday at Helsinki Ice Hall, with Finland's Helsinki Rockettes clinching the gold medal. Their compatriots, Team Unique, secured silver, while the United States' Haydenettes earned bronze.

The Helsinki Rockettes are the 2025 World Champions! The Finnish team triumphed in front of a home crowd in Helsinki, capturing their fourth world title and their first since 2011—also won on home ice. After a silver medal in 2023 and two bronze medals in 2022 and 2024, the Rockettes finally reclaimed the top of the podium.
They delivered a stellar performance, earning a total score of 235.37 points. Leading after the short program, they maintained their momentum in the free skate, achieving a segment score of 155.88, their best of the season.

Also from Finland, Team Unique finished closely behind with a total score of 156.98 points and cliched the silver medal. They topped the free skate segment with a score of 156.98, showcasing their resilience and skill, but their combined score placed them second overall with a total of 234.29. Together, the two Finnish teams created a significant gap—nearly ten points—over the rest of the field, underlining Finland’s current lead in synchronized skating on the world stage.
The Haydenettes from the USA claimed the bronze medal with a total score of 224.77 points. They set new international season's bests in both their free skate and overall score. Skating to "Caves" by Cody Fry and "Eleanor Rigby" by Joshua Bell and Frankie Moreno, they achieved Level 4s on six elements. Team member Carmela Mariz Olarte shared her thoughts with U.S. Figure Skating after the free program: "We are proud of our skate tonight. We took the ice with a very calm energy and felt confident going into our final performance. Being able to skate our best we had all season was very special and we are super proud of ourselves."

Also noteworthy was the remarkable rise of Team Ice on Fire from Italy, who closed out their World Championship campaign with an impressive sixth-place finish. After placing 13th in 2022 and 9th in 2024, the Italian squad has shown steady progress—an especially impressive feat given this was only their third appearance at the World Championships. Their trajectory suggests they will be a team to watch closely in the coming years.

Alongside Finland, the USA, Canada, Italy, and Germany, the top five nations in synchronized skating remain unchanged—each will again be entitled to send two teams to the World Championships next season. As a reminder, the 2026 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships will be held in Salzburg, Austria.
The 2025 edition concluded in a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere, as only the Finnish crowd seems to be able to deliver. The event was a resounding success, and the passion of the synchro skating fans—both local and international—once again brought the magic to life.
