NEXXICE Junior sets new Canadian record at 2026 Nationals

Ontario’s NEXXICE Junior captured the junior national title at the 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships with a record-breaking free program performance, delivered on day 4 of the event held in Gatineau, QC. The victory marks the team’s return to the top of the junior podium after three seasons. Meanwhile, in the senior division, Les Suprêmes continued their dominance, securing their third consecutive national title.
On Friday, team NEXXICE Junior skated a gold-medal free skate scored at 126.44 points, bringing their total segment score to 197.82. The result secured the national title and established a new Canadian junior record.
“We’re super proud of that, because we put a lot of hard work into every single practice,” team leader Tiffany Wang said, as quoted in the official event release by Skate Canada. “It took a lot of effort and a lot of discipline to get to where we are now.”
The title is NEXXICE Junior’s first since 2023, confirming the team’s steady progression throughout the season. The team from Ontario skated this season’s free program to “Kill Bill".

Skating to “Dark Winter” in the short program and performing a cinema-themed free program, Les Suprêmes Junior finished second at Nationals, almost 11 points behind. Nova, also from Quebec, placed third. A total of seven teams competed in this division.
Les Suprêmes reign in SeniorsIn the senior synchronized skating competition, Les Suprêmes maintained their lead by claiming a third consecutive national title. The famous team from Saint-Leonard posted 145.55 points in the free program, finishing with a total of 226.99 points to secure gold in a closely contested event.
“We love our national competitions and having all our friends and family here,” co-captain Olivia Di Giandomenico said after the event. “As a team it’s a really nice win to have in our pocket for the remainder of the season.”
Nova finished quite close behind in second place. Their free program, entitled “Extravaganza,” delivered a dynamic and emotional performance that made a strong impression, bringing them to within less than one point of Les Suprêmes in Friday’s competition. NEXXICE placed third.
