The past weekend, two Junior and three Senior teams competed to be crowned Italian National Champions. The competitions were held in Bergamo, a city near Milan.

In the Junior category, Team Hot Shivers "roared" again like true lionesses, winning the event with a total score of 130.63 points. They earned 8 points more than in the previous competition.        

Team Shining Blades from Milan completed the segment with the silver medal (87.76). 

Team Hot Shivers won the National Championships after a clean and accurate skating in both Short and Free Program (total score: 164.06 points).

Representing Trento, Team Ice on Fire earned the silver medal skating an emotional Free Program on the notes of "Rain in your black eyes". The team got a total of 147.30 points.

Team Shining Blades changed their Short Program music from "Maneskin" to "Evanescence", closing the segment with the bronze medal and a total of 82.45.

To qualify officially for the Worlds, the Senior Italian teams will have now have to participate in a minimum of one international competition. During the next months, the teams will also have to get a minimum technical score of 16 for short program and 28 for the free program, and get a minimum TSS (total segment score) of 115 points before the closure of the entries.

The gap between the teams (both Junior and Senior) is narrowing season after season, which makes Italian competitions more and more interesting to follow. The level is constantly increasing in this country known for its grace and precision.

As a reminder, thanks to the good performance of Hot Shivers last April at the Worlds, Italy will be able to send two teams to the World Senior Championships in 2020.
