After the Short Programs, everything is still possible at the Finnish Nationals

The first day at Finnish Nationals has been really tight, exciting and full of powerful performances. On Saturday, the Senior and Junior teams have performed impressive short programs in Espoo Metro Arena. The Novice competition was also skated on Saturday.
In Seniors, Team
Unique is in the first place after the short programs. They got 78,40
points with their confidently skated program "Bad Que". The performance was
energetic, intense and full of quick and strict details.
The second, Helsinki Rockettes, is really not far behind. Their "Alarm" themed program brought them 78,21 points and they gathered the best technical element score of the day despite one unfortunate fall. The performance was full of passion and determination.
Marigold IceUnity is the third with 75,98 points. They skated the "Escape room" program cleanly with good speed but didn’t get all the technical levels.
In the fourth place is Lumineers with 70,19 points. Their beautiful and classical short program was really successful entity and sensitively interpreted. Lumineers improves from competition to competition and is now very close to the leading teams.

Team Fintastic, leader in Juniors
In the Junior
category, Team Fintastic is leading the competition. They earned 72,42
points with their beautiful and lyrical short program "Sound of Silence". The program
was strong and powerful wholeness and the score was their seasons best.
The second, Dream Edges, is two points behind the leader. They gathered 70,42 points with their "Addiction" themed program. The performance was effective and accurate with interesting and unexpected details.
Not far behind, in the third place is Musketeers with 69,86 points. They skated their "Scorpion Attack" program with good confidence and intense attitude.
In the fourth place is Team Mystique with points 69,47. So they are also really near the podium and the national medals.

Finettes first in the Novice category
Finettes took the gold medal in the Novice category
earning 92.59 points. Their program "Invisible Guardian" captured the audience
with powerful performance and skillful speed. Their performance didn’t leave
any questions.
Like last year in Nationals, the second was Team Dynamique with 84.43 points. They started the whole competition day and took the audience on a journey with their beautiful "Dreaming in New York" program.
Starlights had a really tight fight for the silver medal. They earned 84.35 points with the program "Are we losing the glaciers" and was finally third having only 0,08 points difference to the second place.
From 58.22 to over 92 points, the scores are very high for novices, proving the quality and skills of these young skaters. A total of 12 novice teams competed in Espoo on Saturday.

thrilling competition continues on Sunday when Seniors and Juniors skate their
free programs. Everything is possible and especially in Seniors, the stakes are
heavy because the places to the World Championships are selected based on the
results. It is clear that there is no space for mistakes when every team wants
to win!
