Finland lives this weekend its second national qualifications

ISU teams from Finland are skating this weekend in Espoo. Today, let's focus on the local teams, Valley Bay Synchro (Junior) and Valley Bay Synchronics (Novice), that keep on impressing the public with their improvement and creative programs.


Great competition in Finland: here are the results

About 40 synchro teams competed this weekend in Helsinki, the Finnish capital. After a year of waiting due to the Covid pandemic, the competitive atmosphere was there, and the skaters were eager to skate in front of an audience again.

Team Unique and Team Mystique are leading Finland's first qualification competition in Helsinki

The entire ice rink rejoiced along with the skaters when this competition with 39 teams was finally allowed to take place on Saturday. One of the happiest was Mirjami Penttinen, the coach of Team Unique (HSK) and Team Mystique (HSK): “I have secretly hoped for the last 21 years that both my teams would be winners in the same competition. Now it came true”. Team Finettes (HTK) won the Novice competition on Saturday. The second group of Novices will skate on Sunday.

Finland: the confidences of 5 teams before the qualifications

The first round of the Finnish National Qualifications take place this weekend. This is an important competition for the ISU teams as it will be the real start of their season. The top 5 ISU junior teams in 2020 give their impressions.

Helsinki Rockettes skated to a narrow lead over Team Unique and won the Nationals

The weekend could not have been more exciting in Espoo, where the 2020 Finnish Nationals took place from February 29 to March 1. Second after the short program, Helsinki Rockettes won the Senior National title and skated their way to the Worlds. Team Fintastic won the Junior competition which was extremely tight.

Team Mystique and Team Fintastic to represent Finland at the Junior Worlds 2020

This was an incredible weekend for Team Mystique! The little sisters of Team Unique won the third Finnish qualification for Juniors. The team will represent Finland as Team FIN1 at the Worlds Junior Synchronized Skating Championship 2020 in Nottingham, United Kingdom in March. Even after a difficult short program this weekend, Team Fintastic will be FIN2.
