It has been an exciting weekend at Espoo Metro Arena. On Sunday Finnish Junior and Senior teams continued competing with their free programs and the second section of the Novice teams had their competition. There was a lot of new tricks and innovative elements which made the competition even more interesting.

The winner of the Senior category, Marigold IceUnity, earned 130,62 points in their free program “Transformers” and total 209,20. The performance was really clear and sure and the team skated with powerful, electronic attitude. The program was completed with black and blue colored pantsuit.

Helsinki Rockettes came second with the total score of 208,36. In their free program “Radio Waves” they had really fun and playful time on the ice but the program gave them only 127,63 points. Although, that was enough to give them silver medals. The choreography was many-sided and entertaining wholeness.

Team Unique followed really close behind with 207,86 total score. They skated beautiful and dreamy “Insomnia” and earned 129,74 in the free program. The team interpreted strongly the touchy music and their choreography was like a work of art. Unfortunately, they had a quick fall in the intersection.

The fourth team Lumineers skated touching free program “Air”, which gave them 118,84 points (total 186,22). The team is developing nicely and they performed really well except one little fall.

In the Junior division, Dream Edges skated on Sunday their futuristic program “in 2119” really credible in their black and silvery pantsuits. They won the free program earning 107,94 points and the whole Junior competition with 183,94 total score. The program was full of interesting and innovative details and their twizzles were magnificently performed.

With the free program, Team Fintastic rose from third place to the second with a total score of 174,34 points. Their mystical “Poison Ivy” program brought them 105,28 points which were enough to the silver medals.

Musketeers took the third place with their “Devils” program earning 101,64 points in their free program (total 172,77). The choreography was full of teasing energy and they were dressed completely red from head to toe. Team Mystique skated bravely their free program “Labyrinth” and placed fourth with 163,45 total score.

The second part of the Novice teams had their competition on Sunday. Team Dynamique earned 64,47 points and was the winner with their beautifully skated Ballerina program “Never give up”. Despite an unfortunate fall, the second was Diamond Edges with 62,17 points. Their theme was “Death on the Nile” which had an interesting choreography and it was mystically performed. Aurora Borealis (58,76) got the bronze medal with their program “Ballerina –A story of an orphan girl” -almost same theme as the winner. They skated well and had a strong and clear performance.

The competition was very interesting and it was great to see all the new programs. Despite good performances and compelling programs, there are still a lot of work to do. The fight will continue on second qualifications 8.-9.12.2018 in Tampere.
